“Untokose Dokkoisho” is produced by a confectionery maker Rokkatei in Obihiro city, Hokkaido.
Rokkatei has been producing popular Hokkaido omiyage.
This product came out recently, which went on sale in July 2017.
“Untokose Dokkoisho” is a shout to pull something heavy. Funny name, isn’t it?
There is a chewy blueberry filling. If it becomes tough, try to toast it to enjoy once again the mochi-like texture.
The one in the picture is 720 yen for a box of 6, but each piece is also sold for 120 yen.
You can purchase it only at Rokkatei shops, not at Rokkatei online store.
Everyone loves the mild taste, making it a lovely gift!
Aoendou (green peas) flavor is also available.
I love Rokkatei confectioneries and had to try this.
The name “Untokose Dokkoisho” reminded me of a folktale “the great big turnip”, as the phrase appears many times in the story.
It is palm-sized, looking like a small pancake.
There is a cute logo of “Rokka” on the surface of fluffy dough.
The chewy dough and the sweet-sour blueberry filling is a match made in heaven.
It will give you all the strength to pull anything heavy!
Go ahead and give it a try, be a Rokkatei lover or not.
