Marusei Biscuit is produced by a confectionery maker, Rokkatei, which is famous for its signature Marusei Butter Sand.
Due to heavy request, Rokkatei started selling only the biscuit part of the Marusei Butter Sand.
Just like Marusei Butter Sand, the package imitates the design of the Marusei Butter, which is the first commercialized butter in Hokkaido. It is reasonably priced, 580 yen for 12 pieces. The shelf life is relatively long, of about 40 days.
The nostalgic design gave me no choice but to try the Marusei Butter flavored biscuits!
The design on the square biscuit is the seal of “Banseisha”, a company which developed the land of Hokkaido. The marusei butter was produced by the same company.
The buttery biscuits have a light crispy texture. The liquor and almond add such a savory flavor, I guarantee you will reach for a second piece.
The simple flavor must be loved by everyone. The cute individual wrapping makes it perfect to share!
